The Best Keto Lemonade

Keto Lemonade makes the perfect low-carb, refreshing drink for a hot day in summer. This recipe is made with three simple ingredients that will create a delicious sweet and sour beverage.


Lemonade is a refreshing drink that tastes great when it's ice cold.

Years ago, I struggled to find a keto lemonade recipe that would meet my high expectations for this refreshing summer beverage.

There have been a few recipes I've tried that were "good" but none that really hit the mark. This recipe is different.

What sweetener is used in this keto lemonade?

Allulose. Allulose is a product that I find very appealing, not only because it tastes like sugar but also because it has a zero glycemic indices. It is also readily available and relatively cheap to purchase.

It's been years since I used allulose, but only recently have you been able to find it at Walmart.

Ingredients

This low-carb lemonade is super easy to make. You only need:

  • Allulose is used to sweeten keto lemonade. You can use any sweetener you like. I haven't tested this recipe with other sweeteners. Please let me know what you find!

    Allulose is a relatively new substance and the potential side effects of it are not well known. Some people are able to consume large quantities of allulose without any issues. Others may experience digestive distress after eating too much.

    U.S. News reports that eating more than 54 grams per day of allulose may cause abdominal pain, bloating and gas.
  • – I prefer to use filtered drinking water. But that is just my personal preference. It's up to you what you use.
  • Fresh Lime Juice - To make this recipe, we squeezed the juice directly from the lemons. No lemon extract or juice from the store. Pure and natural!


What are real lemons? Fruit on Keto: Can I eat fruit?

It is possible to enjoy fruits while in a state of ketosis. Fruits and vegetables are healthy in my opinion. I don't like to eliminate them.

While everyone's journey will be different, I was able to lose more than 80 pounds in a year and still eat fruits regularly.

This recipe yields 8 8-ounce servings. You're looking at the following for a single serving:

Calories: 30.05 calories
Total carbs (including allulose: 46.25 g
Allulose: 42 grams
Fiber: 0.17 grams
Net carbs: 4.75 grams
Protein: 0.225 grams
Fat: 0,15 grams

What is the source of this nutritional information?

My nutritional calculations are amateur estimates. I can give you information about how I arrived at my conclusions.

Calories

I know most people say that sweeteners such as allulose or erythritol are zero-calorie, but I chose the FDA's recommendation of 0.4 cal per gram. I'm not sure if companies round to zero because the serving size of allulose and erythritol is so small, but 0.4 cals can make a big difference in a larger amount.

Net carbs are calculated for all sugar replacements in a ketogenic diet by subtracting the Fiber AND the sugar replacement from the total carbs.

What is good about Keto Lemonade?

It doesn't matter what you eat, this is the perfect drink for ketosis. You can pair it with:

  • Keto Fried Chicken
  • Keto Chicken Pesto Pizzas
  • Air Fryer Jamaican Jerk chicken wings

Keto Lemonade makes the perfect low-carb, refreshing drink for a hot day in summer. This recipe is made with three simple ingredients that will create a delicious sweet and sour beverage.

Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups granular allulose
  • One cup of water
  • Fresh Lemon Juice 2 Cups
  • 6 cups of cold water

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup water and 1 and 3/4 cups granular alulose in a medium saucepan. Stirring occasionally, heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a low boiling point, approximately 10 minutes. This is the base of the simple syrup for the lemonade.
  2. Add 2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice to the syrup in the serving pitcher. This amount of lemon juice was obtained by using 5 medium-sized lemons.
  3. Stir well to combine. Add 6 cups cold water and mix. Store in the fridge and serve on ice.

Notes

If the lemonade tastes too sweet, add 1/4 cup of water at a time and taste until you reach your desired sweetness.

What happens to your body after you cheat on keto

Cheating on the keto diet can cause unwanted side effects associated with carbohydrate intake. You can quickly increase your blood sugar levels by suddenly eating starchy carbohydrates. This leads to dehydration since water has to be used for your cells to return to a homeostatic state. Dehydration can also cause an electrolyte imbalance, due to the loss of essential minerals such as sodium and potassium.

These issues are not the only ones. It is common for people who "cheat" on keto to experience digestive discomfort like constipation and diarrhea as a result of their high-carb diet. Although these symptoms may be temporary, they can cause discomfort and disruption. Intense cravings for cheat meals can cause severe deprivation and subsequent binging of high-carb foods. This can make it difficult to stick to the keto diet.

The bottom line is that cheating on the keto diet can't cause you to lose weeks or even months of progress. But, you will still have to adhere to your net carb limits.


Is it really necessary to have a Keto Food List

Determining if you need a keto food list? Probably an important part of your keto journey. It is crucial to eat the right ketogenic foods that are high in fat and low on carbs. It can be difficult to find the right fuel to reach your goals with so many options.

This can help you plan your meals more efficiently and give you enough variety. A keto food list helps simplify the process by providing information about what you should eat, plus a few ideas on how to prepare them. It is also a quick reference guide that you can use to get to the grocery or restaurant.

Additionally, it is important to eat a healthy diet that promotes weight loss. This should include between 12 and 15% protein, 15 to 30% fat, and a maximum of 5% net carbohydrates in order for you to enter the metabolic state known ketosis. The primary goal then is not just the identification of desirable meals but choosing those that allow for maximum nutrients in minimum carbs.

The reliable keto food list can help you move towards cleaner eating habits to improve your health and live a more fulfilling life. You are one step closer towards achieving your lifestyle goals by taking advantage of this resource.
